With freezing temperatures gripping the region, grocery shopping is becoming more of a challenge for many customers
Giant Eagle spokesman Dan Donovan tells the Big K Morning Show it’s adjusting to keep stores accessible.
He says with the snow and deep freeze, there are some delivery challenges getting product to the stores.
That may lead to some temporary gaps on store shelves.
Donovan says new supplies are arriving daily.
“If the items you’re looking for isn’t in a given store in a given moment, know that we have deliveries going to our stores daily so, if you do find yourself on the road again or if you did visit a store and you’re going to try to shop online later, know that we are restocking our shelves as fast as we can,” said Donovan.
He is also reminding shoppers there are alternatives if heading out isn’t safe.
“Online ordering at Giant Eagle’s website has just become increasingly more popular,” said Donovan. “Last week, we actually tried to make it easier for folks with a free delivery promotion, I’ll tell you that we’re actively working to see if we can bring that to life again here in the next few days.”
Donovan says Giant Eagle is prepared to serve customers and meet their needs, even in challenging conditions.
