A startling revelation from the wife of Senator John Fetterman.
Gisele Fetterman tells Larry Richert on KDKA Radio, she receives death threats on a regular basis.
“I hate politics, I’m not a politician, I didn’t choose this role for myself,” said Fetterman.
“you’re saying death threats?” asked Richert.
“Regularly . . . for years,” said Fetterman.
Asked why, Fetterman says, “For existing, for being the spouse of a Senator, you name it.”
Fetterman says her husband is doing good, but is not a proxy for the United States Senator from Pennsylvania.
She did speak about her husband’s depression and how the day he checked himself in for treatment was a “celebratory day”.
“I remember I brought the kids and I said ‘guys I have to share some amazing news’ and they thought I we were going to Disney or something and instead, I said, oh dad just check himself in,” said Fetterman. “And they were like, ‘uh is this amazing news?’ and I said yes, because getting help is really brave and we’re really happy for him.”
The former second lady of Pennsylvania is out with a new book called "Radical Tenderness: The Value of Vulnerability in an Often Unkind World".
