A fundraiser continues for a family coping with the sudden loss of their young son in Beaver County.
53-year-old Thomas Cole is charged with homicide by vehicle while DUI after 9-year-old Therman Wallace Jr. was killed while riding his bike on Friday evening at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Lacock Street in Rochester.
According to a criminal complaint, Cole’s breath smelled of alcohol and he told police he thought he had run over a pile of rocks.
Therman’s aunt started a GoFundMe online to help cover the cost of funeral arrangements “and any other expenses that my sister, her husband, and their family may need as they navigate this loss.”
“Please, slow down and watch our babies that play on these roads,” she writes on GoFundMe. “We ask for your kindness, support, and prayers as we come together to remember a beloved child and help his family through this tough time.”
Therman was a third-grade student a Rochester Elementary.
An obituary says that Therman “loved Minecraft, Roblox, playing UNO, fishing and riding 4-wheelers and bikes with his brothers and friends.”
