A fundraiser has been started to help the family of a 15-year-old that was killed trying to cross McKnight Road last week
KDKA Radio’s Marty Griffin has established a GoFundMe for the family of high school student Michael Wade of Brighton Heights.
He was hit by a vehicle late Thursday evening after shopping with his girlfriend in the area.
Michael was about to enter the 10th grade a Propel Montour High School.
“His family describes him as a caring young man who looked after the people he loved—especially his older brother,” Marty writes on the GoFundMe. “On the day he died, Michael received his very first paycheck and was enjoying what should have been a special evening before this unimaginable tragedy.”
The GoFundMe says all of the money raised will go toward covering funeral and burial expenses.
Any remaining funds will be given for the family to use “as they grieve and begin navigating life without him.”
