A verified fundraiser to benefit the family of a man stabbed to death in his home last week in Edgewood is close to meeting its goal.
The GoFundMe started by a close friend of Dr. Idris Evans says the fundraiser will benefit his wife, who was seriously injured during the attack, and his two children.
Dr. Evans’ kids were able to escape during the stabbing attack last week, unharmed.
Funds raised will go toward covering funeral costs, medical bill and giving the family time to recover physically and mentally.
“If you were lucky enough to have ever met him, he probably made you laugh. Unless you were one of his patients, in which case he probably saved your life… and made you laugh,” organizer Neil Devani says on GoFundMe.
“Idris spent his life caring for other people's families,” Devani adds “Now that his family needs care, we appreciate any support you can offer. If you can give, please give. If you can't, please share this page with someone who might.”
