The mystery of the Canonsburg ducks has been solved!
Two weeks ago, thousands of small, medium and large rubber ducks started appearing on Pike Street in Canonsburg.
In total 2,600 ducks were placed around Canonsburg in the middle of the night.
On Thursday, 10 giant 14-foot-tall ducks were found on top rooftops around Canonsburg.
It turns out, local candy chain “Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop” is being the ducks.
In a release, Grandpa Joe’s says their goal was to turn Canonsburg “into a can’t -miss photo stop” for visitors, while hoping they support the local, small businesses of the town.
“We love a good surprise - and we love Canonsburg,” said Christopher J. Beers, owner of Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop. “The ducks are our fun, lighthearted way to spark smiles, bring people downtown, and remind everyone that shopping and spending time in the heart of Canonsburg is the place to be.”

Giant Rubber ducks hold a soft spot in the hearts of people in Southwestern PA, with the famous duck floating in Downtown Pittsburgh in 2013 and most recently there was one a Idlewild Park this past summer.
