One of Steelers’ founder Art Rooney’s grandsons has died.
Matthew “Dutch” Rooney was found dead late last week in his East Hampton, New York home.
Matthew was the son of the late John Rooney, who was one of sons of “The Chief”.
The Steelers released a statement to the New York Post, “The Rooney Family is mourning the loss of Matthew,”
Born in Meadowbrook, PA, Matthew was elected to the Met Board last year and “as a member of the association and as an Advisory Director” earlier this year.
“On behalf of our entire company, we extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends,” the Met said via The New York Times.
“Matthew's wit, charm and love of fashion made him one of life's last true Dandies and an authentic Bon Vivant,” an obituary read.
A cause of death has not been revealed.
