The last week has been packed with bad news.
Tragic events in Australia, at Brown University and in Southern California have combined to leave many fatigued by the shocking terror and death.
It is our duty to report stories like these.
Now, how can we collectively respond?
Gratitude is a good place to start. We can be thankful for what we have and reflect on all that has happened in 2025, much of it positive.
In Pittsburgh, many are doing great things.
Larry’s Hometown Heroes is one example. What these contributors are doing to build up our community doesn't move the needle like bad news, but KDKA Radio celebrated them anyway.
The list of good things happening this year is long and we can look ahead to 2026 with optimism. And individually, we seize opportunities to give back to a city and region we love to call home.
