A student at McKeesport High School was stopped this morning after entering the building with a hand gun.
In a social media post, the McKeesport School District says a security guard found the weapon during a check of a student’s bag around 8:15 a.m. at a security checkpoint.
The gun was turned over to school authorities.
McKeesport Police are investigating.
“The student never made it past the security checkpoint,” the District said. “No staff and students were in imminent danger. The district will follow disciplinary policy and procedures. McKeesport Police will continue the investigation.”
