KDKA Radio Editorial: Happy Thanksgiving!

With 2025 coming to a close in a few weeks, Thanksgiving gives us an opportunity to number the things we’re grateful for.

We can celebrate the successful opening of the new terminal at Pittsburgh International and look ahead to hosting the NFL Draft, an event that will put the city in a much bigger spotlight.

The downtown revitalization is well underway with the modernization of Market Square and new Arts Landing, and redevelopment in the Lower Hill and Hazelwood Green. And developers have several projects in the pipeline, including the Esplanade on the North Shore.

Not too long from now, a new mayor will be sworn-in. There’s optimism a new administration can address a budget deficit and shore up the Department of Public Safety and the city’s aging fleet of Police, Fire, EMS and Public Works vehicles.

Finally, in the region, huge investments have been announced in advanced manufacturing and data centers.

As we gather this week, let’s not forget to express our gratitude for family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving from our KDKA family to each of you.
