Police are investigating after some residents in Tarentum and Brackenridge and three other communities found racist flyers Saturday morning.
The flyers were found along ninth avenue around 8 Saturday morning in Brackenridge and investigators say the flyers allegedly came from a faction of the Ku Klux Klan.
Investigators say the flyers contained a number of white supremacist group messages.
There were reports that the same flyers were found in Bethel Park, Indiana (near IUP) and Charleroi.
The flyers had an address listed in Aberdeen, Ohio.
Scott Dadowski, Tarentum Council President, thanked the police department for investigating the flyers and said, in part, “Our region has endured tragedy after tragedy in recent years, the loss of loved ones, public safety challenges, and moments that test the very fabric of who we are. In times like these, it is more important than ever that we stand together, support one another, and refuse to let hate take root in our community. Hate and intimidation have no place in Tarentum. They do not belong in our streets, our homes, our schools, or our neighborhoods.”
