A new survey says ninety-three percent of the hospital workers in Pittsburgh are thinking about leaving their jobs. That startling revelation comes from Pitt researchers who surveyed more than 22-hundred employees, excluding doctors, at eleven Pittsburgh hospitals in 2021.
Even though these hospital workers say they have too much work, too much stress and not enough income, the majority say they are staying to take care of patients.
Nine out of ten in the research say they experience job satisfaction when they help others.
The pandemic hit health care workers hard with an unprecedented number of COVID cases in the fall and winter.
We want to thank them for their dedication.
And we shouldn’t leave out the first responders, truckers and other essential employees who got us through a very dark winter.
