Heidelberg Borough Police have announced the “sudden and tragic” death of their Police Chief, Dennis Dixon.
In a release, the borough says Chief Dixon died while on duty.
His body was found in his patrol vehicle before 9 p.m. on Monday, May 18.
Dixon joined the department 18 years ago and was promoted to Chief of Police in 2018.
Allegheny County Police are investigating the death, with any additional information being released by the medical examiner’s office.
“Our thoughts are with Chief Dixon’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” the borough said in the release.
