Artificial intelligence infrastructure startup Hellbender Inc. has announced it is moving its headquarters from the University of Pittsburgh Applied Research Center in Harmar, to the Roundhouse at Hazelwood Green.
Regional Industrial Development Corporation President Don Smith says it’s an exciting move for a number of reasons:
“They are a physical AI company, they’re manufacturing prototypes and parts, contract manufacturing things for robotics and for AI companies, so it’s really important that that sector, which is such a big part of Pittsburgh’s future, is growing,” said Smith.
And he says the company estimates the move will create more than 500 local jobs over the next five years.
The company's global headquarters will be in the Roundhouse and expanded manufacturing will be based inside Mill 19.
