Without much fanfare, the much-anticipated Hills Snack Bar mobile food truck made its debut over the weekend.
Jason Powell, who is the owner of the truck, tells KDKA Radio he wanted to do a “soft opening” so they could work out any kinks. He also says they didn’t want to be overwhelmed on the first day.
The first event was held at Independence Township’s “Independence Day of Celebration” in Beaver County.
He says the event was an overall success and that a lot of memories of the old Hills Department stores were shared.
The first thing sold? An ICEE drink.
So, what’s next for the truck that is selling the hot dogs, nachos, soft pretzels, cotton candy and more?
“The plans for our grand opening are 99% solidified, I simply need to confirm the hours,” said Powell. “But that'll be this Saturday coming, at the Green Garden Plaza in Aliquippa.”
