As we arrived, owner Marc Serreo greeted us with a smile and immediately welcomed us with amazingly fresh bagel sandwiches. I had the ‘everything’ bagel with egg and pepper jack cheese.

A great way to start our ‘Hometown Tour’ stop at Oakmont Bakery on ‘Sweet Street’ just off the Hulton Bridge.  Oakmont Bakery is an attraction all its own without even mentioning the ‘deeeelicious’ treats created & housed within.

For those who have not ventured in to visit the ‘new’ location that opened 3 years ago: DO IT!  Make it a point to visit.  It is a destination.

Oakmont Bakery is a spot that you should bring out-of-towners to when they visit.  It is unreal.  The bakery I grew up near had a glass case of goodies that was about 5-8 feet long.

Oakmont Bakery’s showcase is over 170 feet long!  This is the Louvre Museum, The Disneyland, and The Nordstrom’s of bakeries all-in-one.  Luxury at a great price.

The service is first-class, as well.  After all, you are just down the road of this ‘Norman Rockwell’ town from the world-famous Oakmont Country Club so the nearby bakery is a perfect neighbor.

Over 200 friendly employees are led by Mr. Serreo and his son, Tony.  They all help keep the ovens running, the shelves stocked, and the lines moving.

It is a 24-hour operation that opens its doors to the public at 6am.  On this particular day 18 people entered once the doors were unlocked.  The foodies kept streaming in all morning.

And, please - do not limit your imagination as to what you can feast on!  Yes, the menu includes the cakes, cookies, and pies but also crepes, hot & cold coffee beverages, plus breakfast and lunch sandwiches, soups, salads….and breads!

Racks of fresh breads featuring all types of flavors.  I grabbed a loaf of hot pepper bread to go….and a loaf of pepperoni & cheese bread….and a few loaves of ‘everything bread.’  Even though I left the location with a full belly I began digging into the bag before I reached Blawnox.

This is the ‘Basilica of Bakeries.’  One cannot help but be happy with the experience of walking through the doors, into the cafe, and gazing at the tasty, edible artwork.

Do yourself a favor: Make it a point to visit Oakmont Bakery.  They create Delicious memories.
