Human remains were discovered Sunday on the South Side.
Emergency responders were notified around 3 p.m. of possible remains found in the 2400 block of Burham Street.
A police spokesperson later confirmed skeletal remains were found "in an advanced state of decomposition."
The medical examiner will try to identify the victim and determine the cause and manner of death.
