A big portion of I-79 north of the city is under construction for the next few weeks.

There are single lane restrictions in both directions on I-79 between the Neville Island Bridge and 279.

Crews will be working in the area from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday until early March.

PennDOT"s Steve Cowan says expect slowdowns during work times. Crews will install a northbound I-79 traffic crossover at the end of the month, all a part of a $26 million improvement project.

Most of the work will wrap in the Fall of 2023.
