ICE detains more people in Cranberry Township

ICE agents were active Tuesday morning in Cranberry Township.

The agents were seen detaining people near Walmart on Route 19 and an apartment complex behind Costco.

A social media post from Frontline Dignity includes video of Butler County sheriff’s vehicles at the scene.

In a news release, ICE confirmed 36 undocumented immigrants have been detained with help from the sheriff’s office since November.

Sheriff Mike Slupe told KDKA's Marty Griffin, “most of these people have already been deported once or twice and they still come back.”

“I don’t blame them, but you got to do it the legal way,” added Slupe.

Officials say they had previous arrests for crimes such as failure to obey law enforcement or organized violent crime.
