Downtown Pittsburgh is losing another longtime business.
The Big Macs, Fries and Happy Meals may be no more in Downtown Pittsburgh.
The Post-Gazette reports the last remaining McDonalds restaurant chose not to extend its lease on the location on Stanwix Street between Liberty and Forbes avenues, and will exit the location by the end of April.
At one time, there were four McDonald's locations in Downtown, and one on Penn Avenue in the neighboring Strip District.
With many people working remotely and not in office buildings Downtown, there's less foot traffic in the Golden Triangle.
With the pending exit of McDonalds from its Stanwix Street location, it marks the end of an era for the food chain in Downtown.
The owner of the property says there's an agreement for a new tenant to take over the space, but that tenant was not disclosed.
