Litter is a growing issue in Pennsylvania, according to an organization in the Pittsburgh area.

Stephanie Wein with PennEnvironment says it's not because people stopped caring, it's because we are consuming more and more products, many of which come in single-use packaging.
She says one way to help is always be on the lookout for alternatives.
“The more that we consume, the more trash we have to deal with. So, we like to push for solutions like reusable bags and refillable bottles. Things that we can use again, and again.”
PennEnvironment has been an advocate for Pittsburgh's plastic bag ban, just passed last week.
Despite businesses seemingly introducing new green initiatives all the time, and a focus on environmental campaigns, there are more single-use items that are difficult to recycle.
