Idlewild Park opening for 2023 season this Saturday

Idlewild Park and SoakZone is opening for the 2023 season this Saturday with new additions.

The classic Story Book Forest area is welcoming a new character later this spring, Cinderella.

She will move into the Story Book Forest’s Enchanted Castle that visitors go through to wrap up their visit though “the land of once upon a time”.

Other updates include fresh paving throughout the park to make getting around easier.

The bridge connecting Olde Idlewild and Raccoon Lagoon has been upgraded with accessibility ramps.

Also new, a private nursing section and new landscaping throughout the park.

Some attractions have also been upgraded including the Loyalhanna Limited Railroad bringing back a second coach and Paul Bunyan’s Loggin’ Toboggan has been upgraded.

SoakZone water park will reopen on Saturday, May 27.

Idlewild opened in 1878 and is the third-oldest park in America and longest-operating amusement park in America.
