Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala offers immunity to school van driver that killed a Serra Catholic student.

The DA’s Office is offering immunity to Richard Maleski, the van driver who was injured in the high-speed, fatal crash that killed Samantha Kalkbrenner to ensure his testimony against the two men accused of causing the crash.

Records show Richard Maleski tested positive for cocaine in the hours after the Sept 2023, crash in Dravosburg that killed 15-year-old Kalkbrenner and injuring 3 others.

No charges have been filed against Maleski.

William Soliday of North Huntingdon and Andrew Voigt, of Penn Hills are accused of racing at speeds as high as 107 mph that morning as they crossed the Mansfield Bridge in Dravosburg.

The case is scheduled to go to trial April 29.
