One local community is warning of car thefts while another is reporting multiple catalytic converter thefts.

Police in Millvale say in a Facebook post, the car thefts are due to residents leaving keys or key fobs in unlocked vehicles.

They’re advising people living in Millvale to lock their vehicles, set the alarm, keep valuables out of sight, and not leave spare keys in the vehicle.

They're also asking anyone who notices suspicious or criminal activity to call 911 and report it.

Bethel Park Police say they’ve received three reports of catalytic converter thefts from residents.

They occurred on Belmont, Sylvania and Annetta on June 16.

A neighbor reportedly saw the suspect but didn’t call police

They are asking residents to keep and eye out and report suspicious activity by calling 412-833-2000.

Catalytic converters contain precious medals and can be sold for a couple hundred dollars.
