A Pittsburgh interior designer is facing numerous charges after being accused of bilking clients of nearly a half million dollars.
Police say 44-year-old Lauren Piasecki of Morningside, lead designer of Black Cherry Designs, scammed victims out of thousands of dollars at a time.
The business had operated on Butler Street in the city’s Lawrenceville neighborhood, and was recently featured in Pittsburgh Magazine.
Charges stem from eight separate cases including victims in Fox Chapel and Mt. Lebanon.
The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office says a total of $488,774.88 was stolen.
