Italian restaurant in Oakland hit with Consumer Alert

A Consumer Alert has been issued for a restaurant and wine bar in Oakland.

Lucca Ristorante & Wine Bar was hit with 16 violations after an inspection on Monday, September 9.

“high risk” violations include: a couple utensils were found sitting in stagnant water along with scallops seen on a dirty wiping cloth. Also, “old, dried food residue” on the blade and guard of a deli slicer, “old food” on a can opener blade, ice machine had an “encrusted” “black, mold-like substance”, and a dirty microwave was observed near the salad station.

Mouse dropping were found on several surfaces, including counters, the server station, the basement kitchen, dining room and other locations.

“Medium risk” violations include: “toxic items”, unlabeled, were found near the salad and server stations and no food protection manager was in the restaurant during inspection.
