Jason Lando officially sworn in as Pittsburgh Police Chief

For the first time since Larry Scirotto resigned, Pittsburgh officially has a Police Chief without the word "acting" in his title.

Jason Lando was sworn in Friday in City Council Chambers.

Lando says he knows the position has been a revolving door, and he's in it for the long haul.

“We’re not going to change everything overnight, we need someone who’s committed for the long-haul and we do these things like incrementally but I’m here as long as Mayor O’Connor will have me,” said Lando.

Lando says his top priorities are reducing violent crime and quality-of-life crime.

He also said retention and recruiting is a major priority as well as strengthening the force's health and wellness program.
