Comedian and former Tonight Show host Jay Leno was badly injured in Southwestern Pennsylvania after he fell down a hill.
In an exclusive interview with Inside Edition, Leno said he was staying at the Hampton Inn before a show at the Palace Theater in Greensburg on Friday, November 15.
Hours before the show, Leno left to go to a local restaurant.
Instead of walking the long distance to the road, Leno decided to take a shortcut down a hill.
“I said well, the hill doesn’t look that steep,” Leno told Inside Edition before an event in California this week.
He sustained dark bruises to the left side of his face. His eye is swollen shut along with a broken wrist and other injuries.
Known for his work ethic, Leno performed at the Palace Theater just hours after the severe accident.
“It will be fine, I’m not worried about it,” said Leno on his recovery while wearing an eye patch.
Just two years ago, Leno suffered serious burns after a fire in his garage, where he collects classic and custom cars.
