A high-profile JCPenney store in the Pittsburgh area will close this year.
The JCPenney at Ross Park Mall will close this fall, on September 20.
JCPenney still operates stores around Southwestern PA in the Westmoreland Mall, Monroeville Mall, The Mall at Robinson and in Uniontown.
In a message to KDKA Radio: JCPenney issued the following statement:
JCPenney store at the Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh, PA, will close its doors to the public on September 20, 2026. Regretfully, we are unable to continue our current lease terms for this store location and have been unable to find another suitable location in the market. We are grateful to our dedicated associates and the loyal customers who have shopped at this Pittsburgh, PA, location through the years, and we hope to continue serving them throughout our nearly 650 stores nationwide and at jcpenney.com
JCPenney is one of the anchor stores at Ross Park Mall, including Macy’s, Dick’s House of Sport and Nordstrom.
JCPenney has been an anchor store inside Ross Park Mall for nearly 40 years.
