A storm chaser from Southwestern Pennsylvania has gone viral after her boyfriend proposed to her in front of a tornado.
While a huge twister spun behind them, Bryce Shelton got down on one knee and proposed to Johnstown native Paige Berdomas this past Saturday, June 28.
The engagement photo, taken in their favorite state to storm chase, South Dakota, by follow weather chaser Brandon Copic and is so unbelievable it looks like it was made by A.I., but it is real.
Berdomas, a former RN and nurse practitioner at Indiana Regional Medical Center, began chases storms locally in 2018-19.
Soon after, she started traveling to other states and a part-time hobby, became a full-time job.
Paige and Bryce had been friends for a while, meeting online through weather community on Twitter aka "X", before they met up for the first-time last year at a gas station parking lot in Iowa to chase a storm.
The two immediately hit it off.
Bryce, a former firefighter and EMT in South Carolina, had been waiting months for the perfect moment to propose to Berdomas, saying he wanted to do it during a storm chase.
Paige tells KDKA Radio after all of the unexpected attention they’ve been getting, they are now back to work, chasing storms again. No word on a wedding date.
