A Delaware County man is behind bars, accused of threatening to set fire to Governor Josh Shapiro’s home.
State Police say 65-year-old Richard Franklin made the alleged threat Tuesday while visiting State Representative Leanne Krueger’s office, where he was seeking help with unpaid taxes.
Investigators say he also used an antisemitic slur and threatened to burn down the Governor's mansion in Harrisburg.
Franklin did not act on the alleged threat and now faces charges including terroristic threats and ethnic intimidation.
The arrest comes more than a year after a man prosecutors say targeted the Governor over hatred of him and his family set fire to the Governor’s Mansion during Passover.
We’ve reached out to the Governor’s Office for comment.
Franklin is being held on $100,000 bail and is due back in court next week.
