The defense rested its case Monday morning in the final phase of the synagogue shooting trial.

United States District Judge Robert Colville gave the jury instructions before a break.

Robert Bowers’ defense team called witnesses for more than a week, trying to convince the jury the convicted gunman’s life should be spared.

The final witness was Bowers’ aunt Patricia Fine.

Closing arguments ended on Monday afternoon.

Jurors will decide, beginning Tuesday, whether he'll spend life in prison or be sentenced to death.

In June, the jury found Bowers guilty on all 63 counts for the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue on October 27, 2018.

Last month, jury trial unanimously agreed the convicted Tree of Life Synagogue shooter is eligible for the death penalty.
