There will be an increased police presence at Karns City Schools over the next couple of weeks after reports as a threat.
In a letter sent to families, Superintendent Eric Ritzert says they were recently contacted by PA State Police about the threat.
According to Troopers a person in the community say they were “seeing visions and made a statement suggesting that on May 7 the high school ‘ay get blown up or shot up’,” the letter reads.
Ritzert says police have reviewed the information they have and “do not consider this statement to be credible.”
As precaution, State Police are increasing their presence around the school, out of an abundance of caution.
Ritzert stresses there are no specific threats made against the school.
