The stretch run of the 2026 high school football season began this past weekend, as teams throughout the region started their pushes towards the postseason. Included were numerous strong individual showings through some rainy conditions in Western Pennsylvania.
This season, KDKA Radio will again nominate players each week to join the KDKA Radio Super 7 Awards watch list. Every Monday, a new crop of players will be unveiled based on their efforts that previous Friday night. At the end of the year, KDKA Radio will announce the winners of the award for each WPIAL classification, as well as the Pittsburgh City League.
Here are the top performances from Week 8:
Tyshawn Robinson, McKeesport
While much of the hype surrounding McKeesport entering the season was on their two SEC recruits in Kemon Spell and Javien Robinson, Friday night was one that belonged to another standout skill player.
Tyshawn Robinson ran for 220 yards and three touchdowns as McKeesport beat Hampton 47-16 Friday.
For the Tigers, the win was a third straight after a surprising 2-3 start to the season, much of which has been played without Spell, a Georgia recruit.
Just a sophomore, Tyshawn Robinson and McKeesport finish its season against Indiana and Shaler over the next two weeks.
Jeremiah Pratt, Western Beaver
Jeremiah Pratt is a standout basketball player in the WPIAL who already possesses two Division I offers. But he’s not too shabby on the gridiron, as well.
On Friday, Pratt ran for 285 yards and two touchdowns in a massive 26-10 win over Freedom — a third straight victory for the Golden Beavers after a 1-4 start to the season.
Pratt, who plays basketball at Lincoln Park and football through the co-op agreement between his school and Western Beaver, has picked up Division I basketball offers from Columbia and Monmouth.
His brother, Josh, currently plays at Columbia and another brother, L.A., plays at Northeastern.
Aayden Wright, South Fayette
After suffering its first loss a month ago, South Fayette has bounced back in dominant fashion with three straight blowout wins.
Aayden Wright has been a massive part of the run, particularly this past Friday.
Wright ran for 216 yards and three touchdowns in a 69-0 win over Laurel Highlands.
A sophomore, Wright has already picked up college offers from Pitt, West Virginia, Maryland and UConn.
Brady Brinkley, North Allegheny
Brady Brinkley did a little bit of everything Friday night.
North Allegheny’s standout quarterback passed for 193 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 34 yards and three more scores and caught a 26-yard touchdown pass on a trick play as North Allegheny beat rival Seneca Valley 42-7.
The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Tigers, which will look for two wins to end their season in order to make the Class 6A playoffs.
Brinkley has a scholarship offer from Glenville State.
