KDKA-TV meteorologist announces retirement

After 13 years at KDKA-TV and nearly 40 years in broadcasting, meteorologist Kristin Emery has announced she is retiring.

Emery posted on social media that she’ll retire at the end of August.

A native of Washington, Pennsylvania, Emery joined KDKA-TV in 2012.

A graduate of West Virginia and proud Mountaineers fan, Emery started her career in weather at WTOV in Steubenville.

She’s also spent time at stations in Florida, North Carolina and Maryland.

“I have had a wonderful, exciting, adventurous and fulfilling career in this industry, and I have loved it,” Emery said on Facebook. “My husband and I are blessed and excited to begin this next chapter of our lives together, and I will keep you updated on our many adventures and travels in the future!”

You'll continue to see Emery on KDKA-TV until the end of August.
