PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) Following a shooting that left multiple teens and an adult injured, Kennywood is implementing several new safety measures.

According to a release and through a press conference, the number of police personnel inside the park will be doubled.
Other increases to safety is that all guest 17 or younger must be accompanied by an adult; additional lighting and security will be along the parks perimeter to prevent people from avoiding security.
Some visitors said metal detectors were not being used, but General Manager Mark Pauls says they no longer use those machines.
Pauls says their weapons detection system was working properly during the night of the shooting.
Other updates and changes to the security procedures include a new bag policy and an alteration to the mask policy.
