A woman from Kittanning is in jail this afternoon, accused of dropping a newborn baby on its head.
That child was hurt around noon yesterday, and taken to UMPC Children's Hospital.
Police say Sarah Lugo was responsible, but she left the house after police arrived, but later, officers found her barricaded in her home near North Jefferson Street.
It was 11 hours after the police got involved that they had been able to find Lugo after she fled the scene.
Lugo is now facing a long list of charges, including endangering the welfare of children and resisting arrest.
Lugo is currently in Armstrong County Jail and the severity of the baby's injuries is not know at this time.
