The principal at Knoch Primary School is facing criminal charges for failing to report a sexual abuse allegation.

Gregory Mandalas' 19-year-old son, Matthew, is accused of sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl.

In a statement to families, the district says it learned of the charges Monday afternoon and placed Mandalas on indefinite administrative leave.

Superintendent David Foley said in a statement, “this is a confidential personnel matter. Therefore, I am unable to provide specific details at this time.”

Foley adds that the victim is not a Knoch student

State police are holding a news conference Tuesday morning about the charges against Mandalas.
