Large fire engulfs Riley's Pour House in Carnegie

UPDATE: The fire is nearly out as of 4 p.m. and there are still no reported injuries. Crews were able to contain the first to mainly Riley's Pour House.

Popular Irish Pub Riley’s Pour House in Carnegie is engulfed in flames after a 4-alarm fire broke out Thursday afternoon.

Oakdale Hose Company, one of the many crews on the scene, is telling the public to avoid the area in Carnegie “for the foreseeable future.

KDKA Radio reporter David Ballarotto reports the business was open when the flames broke out and the bar needed to be evacuated.

Andrew Brennan was inside Riley's at the time the fire started. He says they were told the flames started in the kitchen.

He says there were five or six tables occupied at the time and that no one was hurt inside Riley's.

Early reports say it is a four-alarm fire with other building’s possibly affected as well.

No official word on any injuries.

Carlynton School District released a statement Thursday saying afternoon bus transportation may be delayed due to the fire.

Melanie Kuntz, who was on Washington Avenue, posted videos showing the large amount of smoke coming from the fire.

Riley’s has been a staple in the community for years featuring food, drinks and live entertainment.

Riley's is very close to the former site of Papa J's which was destroyed in a large fire in 2018.
