Pitt alum Damar Hamlin and Steelers owner Art Rooney II are among those who will be honored at the 50th annual Art Rooney Awards next month, along with one of our own!
KDKA Radio Morning Show host Larry Richert is one of six “Golden Anniversary honorees”.
They’ll be honored during a dinner on Tuesday, September 12 at the FedEx Great Hall at Acrisure Stadium.
The Steelers founder started the award back in 1973 to raise money for the non-profit Catholic Youth Association.
The non-denominational organization provides “services to children and adults”.
“The Chief” said CYA was his favorite charity.
Past Rooney Award winners over the past 50 years include, Bill Cowher, Terry Bradshaw, Dan Marino, Ryan Shazier, James Conner, Rabbi Jeffery Myers, Sally Wiggin and more.
In addition to Hamlin, Rooney and Richert, Howard Hanna CEO Helen Hanna Casey, Jewish Healthcare Foundation CEO Dr. Karen Wolk Feinstein and West Deer Community Center volunteer Ermes Listotto will also be honored.
