Police say an armed kidnapping in Plum and a shooting in Pittsburgh last night are connected.
Allegheny County Police say Plum Police were told Wednesday afternoon by a family member that his brother was kidnapped by two men demanding ransom.
The victim's phone was tracked to Hazelwood, where someone called 911 to report a fight and gunfire.
Officers then found a man who was shot in the chest on Deely Street in Greenfield just after 7 p.m.
He was in stable condition. The victim told police the suspects left in a vehicle.
County Police say the victim went to an undisclosed location somewhere in the county to meet up with someone he had met a few days early in the City of Pittsburgh.
When victim arrived, he was met by several people that abducted him.
Detectives don’t believe the kidnapped happened in Plum and that the people involved in the reported kidnapping were driving to “multiple locations” throughout the county before the shooting in Greenfield.
Police say no arrests have been made and the case remains active.
