Latrobe is now a member of the National Banana Hall of Fame!
Dole established the hall to celebrate 125 years in the banana business.
Many people know the banana split was invented at a drugstore in Latrobe.
For the last 10 years, the city has hosted The Great American Banana Split Celebration including events like a 5K run, classic car show and the Banana Split Princess Pageant.
Joining Latrobe in the Hall of Fame is a restaurant New Orleans’ French Quarter and Dole’s mascot, Bobby Banana
