A local elementary school was ruled “out of compliance” after an inspection by state officials on Friday.
The Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety say the Robert W. Clark Elementary School in the Laurel Highlands School District has evidence of rodents after inspection Friday.
An inspection shows “too many to count” mouse droppings “throughout the school”, including classrooms.
There were “fresh droppings” in the kitchen “along the floor edges and on shelving units.”
Droppings were also found in a food storage area and on food containers.
Some items, including cereal and granola were adulterated by mice. Those items were through away.
The correct by date on the inspection is September 22.
