There's a new wrongful death lawsuit after a Beaver County dentist shot and killed himself in the back of a police car.
Officers initially went to the home of Arpad Sooky in August 2022 for a safety check on his parents.
They discovered a large number of guns, which Sooky allegedly wasn't allowed to have because of a recent mental health commitment order.
When officers went to seize the guns, Sooky allegedly fought back and was eventually handcuffed.
A civil lawsuit against Center Township and five people within the department, alleges police already knew of Sooky's mental health issues and that he was in possession of several guns.
It also alleges officers did not properly search him for additional weapons and didn't realize he had one before putting him into the police cruiser, where he later shot himself.
