There have certainly been some very interesting moments with the Penguins over the years. One group owed Mario Lemieux so much money that he turned that into owning the team.
That was a tremendous stroke of luck for Mario, the Pens and of course, the fans. So, what will this change of ownership mean as we transition from the Fenway Sports Group to the Hoffman Family of Companies?
We've got two words, MARIO LEMIEUX.
While the Fenway group left the Pens in a better place than when they took over they somehow managed to upset the great Mario.
Not good.
The Hoffman's have rolled out the red carpet for Super Mario and immediately, everything seems right with the world again.
These are hockey people. Yes, they are business people but they love hockey every bit as much as they love making money.
Welcome back Mario and welcome to the Hoffman Family of Companies. This just feels right.
