UPDATE from PennDOT on McKnight crash: Due to an overturned truck, the ramp from McKnight Road to southbound I-279 is closed to traffic. Drivers on McKnight Road will use the HOV lanes to access points south. The 2+ occupancy requirements have been temporarily waived and the HOV lanes will remain in the inbound configuration until the ramp reopens.

Ohio Township Police are alerting drivers a number of traffic lights on Ohio River Blvd in Emsworth and Ben Avon are out.

The department says it has learned the problem is due to a planned power outage by Duquesne Light they were not informed about.

KDKA Radio’s Ellen Gamble reports there is an accident on Rt. 65 between Ben Avon and Emsworth near Brighton Road.

Ohio Township Police also say they are trying to get generators to get power to the signals.

They advise alternate routes this morning.

Also, traffic is essentially stopped if you’re trying to access the Parkway North from McKnight Road.

There is very heavy back up due to an overturned triaxle truck accident that lost a lot of its load. It will take some time for that to be cleaned up.

Traffic is being directed to East Street.
