
UPDATE: Hungry Cupcake has reopened.
A coffee shop in West Deer has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department.
According to an inspection the shop on McKrell Road has been operating without a valid health permit since May 31, 2022.
The Health Department say that the shop has operated since that time with inspectors trying to contact the owner numerous times to pay outstanding permit fees.
The location is ordered closed until the food permit fee is paid.
The closure was posted on the Health Department's website on Thursday and as of Friday, March 1 remains active.
The Hungry Cupcake is in the Russellton neighborhood of West Deer and offers various flavors of coffee and tea.
The shop also offers snacks along with arts and crafts.
