Local doctor on experiencing COVID fatigue

Are you experiencing COVID fatigue? Apparently, you're not alone.

On the NewsRadio KDKA morning show, Dr. Anthony Mannarino - Chair, Allegheny Health Network's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health- talked about the cumulative impact of the pandemic.

“A year ago, it was one year down and people were hopeful. Now, it’s two years down and over time, more and more people get COVID fatigue, are tired and want more hope in their lives.”

Dr. Mannarino says he's seen an increase in depression and anxiety among  children, adolescents and young adults.

Fortunately, he says virtual mental health treatments have enabled people to access care more easily, and it has been quite effective.
