Pittsburghers for Public Transit and 25 other groups released their Pittsburgh 100 Days Transit Platform Thursday - an 18-point plan that includes accessible and equitable public transit, sidewalk investment and inclusionary zoning laws.
In Oakland Thursday, PPT Director Laura Chu Weins called upon mayor-elect Gainey to implement the plan in his first 100 days in office.
Census data shows 23 percent of Pittsburgh households do not have access to a private car.
The groups are also calling for investment into better sidewalks, safer bus stops and bus lanes.
