The treasurer of South Fayette’s Youth Football Association has been arrested, accused of stealing over $60,000.

Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala’s office says 41-year-old Jaella Richard of Bridgeville faces several charges including theft, receiving stolen property and more.

According to a criminal complaint, the president of the football association was concerned after seeing an account balance of $745.52 instead of over $60,000.

As treasurer, Richard had access to the association’s checking account and investigators found “numerous personal expenses” paid out of the South Fayette Football PayPal and Venmo accounts to Amazon and more.

“A significant number of the Venmo payments were immediately transferred to a credit union account associated with Richard and used for personal expenses including mortgage payments, food, entertainment, credit card payments and utilities,” the D.A.’s office said in a release.

The total amount Richard is accused of stealing is $64,742.75.
